Copper box with sterling silver rope design to top and sides. The centre of the lid is decorated with a central flower or shell pattern.  The central pattern is circled with the distinctive A E Jones silver rope pattern. This same silver rope pattern forms a rectangular pattern on the flanks of the lid. The sides of the box are also decorated with silver rope pattern circles. The box sits on spherical silver feet.

The style of the box has a distinctly Art Deco feel to it although it retains the hand hammered finish. This box probably dates to the late 1920's.

The silver rope design is used extensively on cigarette boxes around this time.
