This candlestick has a date stamp for 1904, hallmarks for Birmingham. The AEJ stamp is very worn but it can just be made out. The distinctive oval in which the AEJ is stamped can be seen clearly.

The candlestick is mounted with 4 ruskins on the base, set into heart shaped leaves. The design of the leaves is very reminiscent of Bernard Cuzner designs and is clearly influenced by the designs of the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft.

There are four other ruskins set into a band on the stem.
